Grand finale of note

Van Alphen ended his stint with the JPO in their third season on a triumphant note.

No praise can be too high for his fluent, pungently theatrical direction, not to mention the unstinting applicationof the orchestra which seemed to have assimilated Stravinsky's idiom into its bloodstream.
